@urusan for my "homelab" (between quotes because I have also a lamp connected) I just used a shelly plus 1 pm¹ inside the wall plug. No cloud needed I just make it send info to an MQTT server and then I just use home assistant to monitor it.

Hope this help.

@urusan I'm not affiliated with Shelly, but I also discovered that they sell an energy meter for the whole house, that I installed since few days: it works also offline and there an integration ready for home assistant, this time not using MQTT, home assistant just pull data from it over WiFi: https://shop.shelly.cloud/shelly-3em-wifi-smart-home-automation

Keep in mind that they call it WiFi-operated 3 Phase Energy Meter but you can also use it with mono phase current.

@urusan this is how it looks like on home assistant. The spike at 1 pm it's because today I used the elettric oven to prepare my lunch.

For the homelab (it's an odroid hc4 + a switch + a router + and APC) that now on idle drains 27 W, I plan to investigate if a mini UPS DC-DC can make me just turn off the APC to cut down the drain a bit.
