I've eaten 231 McDonald's this year..

@billchenchina I haven't eaten McDonalds in like 8 years..... KFC is the only fast food chain that I eat at but that too in like once in 4-5 months. I average 1 burger every 3 years and 4-5 pizzas in a year.

@SpaciousCoder78 McDonald's is just on my way from home to office, and a breakfast set is around ¥8 to ¥15, so I always grab a takeout.

@billchenchina I think I just had one McDonald's this year - I eat subway more often and it is always their tuna. I rarely have break fast, usually it is only two meals a day.

@praveen Subway has far fewer stores than McDonald's here. In Wuhan, there're 170+ McDonald's, meanwhile Subway only has 20.

@praveen @billchenchina Curious, how do you stay energised with just 2 meals? Do you go for a low carb diet?

@billchenchina burgers and fast food are unhealthy though. I usually limit my consumption of those for this reason. Once in a while is fine for me. The recent burger I had was from a KFC in a train on the way to Mumbai.

@billchenchina i hate McDonalds. their food is so spicy and they don't have beef or buffalo. they don't even mention it's spicy in the menu and the food costs soo much and you dont get water to drink after having to eat all the spice

@SpaciousCoder78 @billchenchina I once did keto and lost 15kgs, now millets based diet. My body adjusted to burning fat directly.

@praveen @billchenchina how did you feel on keto? I tried going aggressively low on calories once but I just ended up being dizzy. Calorie deficit just feels useless in my case as there’s no change in weight even if I keep my deficit.

@libreinator @billchenchina beef in a restaurant is something I’ve rarely seen in my life. I remember seeing some steak at a 5 star hotel that I stayed in Bengaluru like 8 years ago. Considering the political situation I wouldn’t be surprised if they stopped serving beef too. Maybe one day if you do head outside the country you might get what you need

@SpaciousCoder78 @billchenchina parotta and beef roast is a popular combination around my place, both as street food and at restaurants. Which is why I'm surprised McDonald's doesn't serve beef. And I don't understand why MD adds chilly to all their food, even the ones not marked as hot or spicy

@libreinator @billchenchina I think fast food chains have a national menu right? Maybe that’s the reason why they don’t serve beef ?

@SpaciousCoder78 @billchenchina ohh yes. just realised KFC and others don't serve beef either. But at least they don't add chilly to everything

@SpaciousCoder78 Breakfast menus here actually let me feel less guilty as it's using whole wheat bread, and some sets are grilled instead of fried.

They're still unhealthy though (especially high sodium). Maybe I need to reconsider my breakfast choices and make it more diverse.

@libreinator Really?! Don't you have double cheese burgers?

@billchenchina @libreinator it’s not just McDonald’s no fast food chain serves beef

@billchenchina we have beef burgers in my place but not in mcdonalds or other big chains

@SpaciousCoder78 @billchenchina small ones do, at least in kerala. i've eaten beef burger and beef pepperoni pizza from local fast food chains

@SpaciousCoder78 @billchenchina it was better physically - as I feel sleepy when eating lots of carbs. But psychologically without eating rice, I did not feel satisfied :)

@praveen @billchenchina can relate with the sleepiness part. I for some reason have a bad reaction to carbs but with our country being carb heavy it’s hard to ditch the rice out of the diet. My hostel only serves pure white rice. As a test I’m gonna try skipping breakfast for a few days. Breakfast in the hostel is soaked in oil anyway
