@praveen l wish to work on debian, MX Linux to be more precise, on my windows laptop. I know that there's going to be a lot of challenges, but technology is fairly advanced in 2026, isn't it ??🤔🤔🤔

@codewizard First step would be to install and start using it. Give it a try, it is not very hard.

@praveen it's my brother's laptop. I don't wish to install a second OS in case the computer starts behaving strangely. However, I wish to use as much of Linux as possible within the windows ecosystem 😎😎😎

@srud

@codewizard @srud You could install it in Virtual Box inside Windows to get familiar with GNU/Linux without affecting Windows. Later you can install directly when you are familiar with it.

@codewizard @praveen @srud I learnt more about operating systems and linux the day I stopped using windows. If you're into learning it, using the OS on baremetal would do the trick.

No, it's not really that complicated as the youtubers make it to be. It's easier to use than windows if you know how to use it.

@praveen @srud thanks for the suggestion. Now I can continue with my experiments in a sandboxed environment 😃😃😃

@SpaciousCoder78 @srud @praveen l don't have that baremetal of my own yet.........

@codewizard @srud @praveen dual boot is always an option if you really want to do it.
