@beep If there's one thing working in datacenters and computer labs has taught me, it's that they are *not* using those resources efficiently.

@foolishowl @beep

The truly absurd thing is how much isn't being used at all. There isn't enough rackspace and power for all the GPUs that have been purchased as is, but they just keep buying more. There are literally billions of dollars worth of cards (and the required on board ram) sitting in the packaging in warehouses just to keep the house of cards propped up.

@Hextore @foolishowl @beep where are these warehouses, y'say? https://flipboard.com/@heiseonline/heise-online-international-7viq3q94z/-/a-dLa4_2BbRE6huMiNtNeH5g%3Aa%3A2831390041-%2F0

@hyc
i did say that! how did you hear me?

@beep Frankly, we ought to be pushing for the right to exist in society without having to own a computer of any kind.
