Im so grateful for all the Free software frontends to proprietary platforms. This addon is useful for accessing them automatically:

@tagomago I used to use privacy redirect. iirc, this program is a fork of privacy redirect that supports more frontends, will redirect if the instance is offline, etc. I love the redirect feature since it encourages enabling multiple instances.

@hamblingreen Hey! So all my content is exclusively on peertube, self hosted blog, sourcehut, pleroma, etc. I am a militant advocate for free network services where most people would be inclined to "go where the people are". I would never support proprietary network services because of these frontends.

That being said: any step towards freedom is good. There's a huge amount of howto info on youtube and if it's not CC-BY/CC-BY-SA (to upload to peertube), youtube is our only choice.

@hamblingreen I guess "support" is a messy word. But I also think these frontends represent the best of FOSS. They dont have trackers, ads, malicious features, etc. in contrast to their proprietary counterparts. They can be good for onboarding. All that said, we should advocate for free network services (now that we have them) as much as possible.

@stealthswor They have a chrome version on their github,
