I've not sold my minecraft account and part of why is that this has been happening for YEARS and there is no reason to believe they'd stop after I sold it.
They're already going all private-investigator on me to figure out my email and phone number from just my minecraft account name, that name would still be "foone" even if I sold it!

They want my account because I have a "rare" cape: I went to Minecon 2011, and everyone who did that got a special cape that you can't get elsewhere
