Do you think AI scrapers taking open source code is "fair use"?

I personally do not.

STOP DOING RARS
- Movies were not supposed to be compressed
- Years of piracy yet no real-world use found for splitting
- Wanted to compress anyway for a laugh? We had a tool for that: It was called "encoding"
- Yes please give me .r01 of something. Please give me .r97 of it" - Statements dreamed up by the utterly deranged

Look at what Scene groups have been demanding your respect all this time, with all the programs & tools we built for them
(This is REAL rars, done by REAL Scene Groups):

osa.r03, osa.rar ????? | tv.r23, tv.rar ???????? | hed.r93, hed.r94, hed.rar ????????????? |

"Hello i would like 100 (winrar image) please"
They have played us for absolute fools

General rant about the state of my country

I hate the fact that poverty has made my country spineless. We accept plastic waste from Western countries and then pay villages to burn them. We welcome Israelis who ban Indians from their establishments. We send workers to Dubai to die from overwork.Any amount of environmental destruction can be sold to the masses on the promise of immediate cash injection.

Sent a pull request to Audacity fixing a crash bug I'd been running into frequently. The cause was an out-of-bounds memmove. Classic C++ areas.

Anyway I got a fucking copilot review on my PR which left two comments, both completely wrong, one of which suggesting I reintroduce the out of bounds memory access. I'm furious!

hey fediverse!

Gatekeeping in tech is like hoarding knowledge during a zombie apocalypse: unhelpful, isolating, and honestly just weird.

In a field that thrives on collaboration and shared solutions, keeping others in the dark doesn’t make you look smarter—it just slows everyone down. Teach. Document. Help. It’s how we all survive the chaos.

A selfie of 6 men smiling at the camera. Behind them is a busy road and Chembur's Diamond Park. Screenshot of Achavi displaying the numerous changes made in and around the Diamond Park, Chembur.

Within the park, yellow lines show the footways, hedges, playground, and fitness station that have been added. The historic aircraft was converted from a node to a polygon. The boundary of the park was also corrected, with the old boundary shown as a red polygon and the new boundary shown in green.

South of the park, a building has been moved and split into two, with one of the new buildings being turned into a multipolygon. A row of 10+ POIs has been added, shown as yellow points.

To the west of the park, another row of POIs has been added and moved.

All around the park, 2 streets and 6 buildings are highlighted with blue, indicating tag changes in the form of addition of street names and building details.

To the north of the park, yellow lines and polygons indicate the addition of sidewalks, walls, and landuse boundaries. Screenshot of Achavi showing changes made along Dayanand Saraswati Marg, to the north of Diamond Park.

Roads, buildings, and park highlighted in blue show updates to their names. A large park has been retagged as a recreation ground, and a footway was detached from its boundary.

Multiple walls and fences have been added to the south, shown as yellow lines.

There are yellow points all along the road, showing the addition of benches, bus stops, information signs, and street lamps. Two zebra crossings have also been added. Screenshot of Achavi showing changes within the Chembur suburban railway station and south of it.

A yellow line shows where a street has been added connecting D.K. Sandu Marg to the monorail station. A blue line shows a street for which a Hindi name was added.

Yellow points show the addition of a junction name, a statue, and railway ticket vending machines.

I know this is a long shot, but nothing ventured, nothing gained and maybe the fediverse can help.

🇬🇧My oldest son (19) is moving to Eindhoven to study design at the Design Academy Eindhoven. He's looking for a room to rent, which is proving very difficult. Is there anyone in the fediverse who can help him with a room either in Eindhoven or nearby? He doesn't mind commuting.
