The little differenti colored dots you see on them would be the hooks for the second layer. I'm pretty sure these days they just make them look like that without the feature that made it good

@evacide I could never really understand how people are comfortable with everything watching and listening to them all the time now. 1984 was meant to sound creepy AF, and instead people are just offering a collective shrug overall to the real thing...
I wish we could just do the XKCD thing. That would put a stop to it REALLY fast...
