Today I finished my term as Debian Project Leader. It feels almost as surreal as having become DPL in the first place. Thanks to everyone who has shown their confidence, support and assistance over the last four years, and more than that, thank you to everyone who has made Debian better, not only as a Linux distribution, but as a global project that we can be proud of!
I wonder if I would also be blocked if I tried to enter Germany (the thought did come up when I considered going to MiniDebConf there). @mjg59 I think the answer has proven itself. Free software is the solution. If xz-utils were a piece of proprietary software, it would take much, much longer to have found this. Also, I shudder to think how much crap is shipped along with seemingly legit android apps out there, also why I refuse to log in to things like Debian's gitlab instance from my phone

@cas I guess it depends what you consider a deadlines. Artificial deadlines are harmful and counter-productive. I try to focus on what's the most important thing(s) to do today. There will always be a backlog of stuff that needs to be done and it's enriching to get used to that idea. That's my 2c anyway.
@jwildeboer Absolutely. I marvel at the prompt and efficient response by everyone involved. In the proprietary software world there would still be denial that there even is a problem.
