Ich befinde mich im Zustand der Rebellion gegen die Zustände. Ich muss jetzt nur noch zwei Weitere finden. Machst du mit?

hii, trying my best to make it in Germany and i really need a job asap. im basically starting from square 1 again due to life issues.
im a very skilled programmer but without a prior job or formal qualifications and my German isn't great (A2~)
not looking for anything luxury just any old job will do. My primary skills are Rust and C++ (& C#) I've worked with lots of cursed technologies like C++/CLR too and have experience writing compilers and decompilers. I also write a Rust GUI toolkit and have relevant experienced there too.
just really need a first step to properly start my life here.
I'm based in Karlsruhe so here or remote would be perfect (I'm fine even with 5 days in person a week, just as long as the commute is <40m)
Curious about what will happen in DebConf 26 in Santa Fe? Check out the schedule that just came out of the oven! https://debconf26.debconf.org/schedule/ #debian #debconf #debconf26 #freesoftware #dc26 #santafe #debianargentina #07
On second day of #PravConf we demonstrated voice and video calls using a local wifi network.
@athulvis @badrihippo and @untrusem did a great job of pulling it together with #prosody running on a 500MB ram raspberri pi hanging on the podium of the stage!
WiFi netwok was created on untrusem's phone. Athul logged in via Monocles Chat and one of the participants, Sreedev logged in with Conversations.
It was fun when usb cable was pulled out live from the raspberri pi server.
for whoever needs to hear this: you're not alone. i'm not vibecoding any of the software i write. i'm writing it by hand, but i've leveled up my emacs with eglot/lsp. i'm modernizing my stacks and use languages with excellent compilers. i think about how to do more with less. i'm trying to combine the best human-written libraries and modules and assemble them with minimal boilerplate. i enjoy reading your manuals and references. i believe in robust, secure, human-written software.
