+++ I'm at the combination website update and begpost +++
Comrades,
I've decided to move my website to beehiiv and trash the old subscription system, I'm going to make it all more accessible with on-site archive and podcast and whatnot. It's going to take me a while to set up. In the meantime, I'm gonna need the crowd to help me get this off the ground, put food on my kid's plate and buy the medicine I need. I've got a lot to do, and I need this to pull me through right now because after the last year I'm the worst I've ever been in many ways. Help me make this work out if you've got something, anything to spare. You'll literally enable me to continue writing.

I'm calling for community for help. If you would like your voice heard at the Maintainer Summit, please contact me by e-mail (laurent.pinchart@ideasonboard.com) to share your opinions on AI usage in the Linux kernel. Unless you explicitly request to be named, I will strictly respect your privacy and anonymize all the feedback I receive before sharing it with kernel maintainers. Please don't wait until the last minute as the week leading to the summit will be very busy. (5/5)
Over the past few months, I have found myself under the spotlight on kernel mailing lists. What started as targeted discussions quickly turned into advocating for the kernel community to respect the mostly silent crowd of developers and maintainers who do not want to fully embrace AI usage. It appears this didn't go unnoticed, as shown by Jon Corbet's talk at Kernel Recipes. (1/5)

It's getting really exhausting to deal with PRs from people who have basically just told a LLM to fix a random bug from the bug tracker of a FOSS project.
Not only do these tend to come with unnecessarily verbose descriptions, the human behind the scenes doesn't understand what the changes are doing (and is thus adding zero value), usually they're incorrect.
