The https://loops.video Terms of Service is quite extensive and may be confusing, so before there is any controversy regarding ownership/intellectual property and user data, I figured I'd answer these questions in the FAQs.

It's crucial to the success of our @loops project that we have clear language and legal terms defined before we onboard any more users to our app.

Loops.video FAQs

@dansup I cant' find the TOS and FAQ on the loops.video homepage. Would I need to log in first?

@stammi I haven't shipped this yet!

@dansup @loops can one specify a creative commons license for their video?

@Skivling @loops Good idea! Thatโ€™s not possible yet but I will add that to our todo list ๐Ÿ“‹

@dansup @Skivling @loops 3D printing sites like https://www.printables.com/model/1023175-springy-flower-collection have a system to state under which licence the creator of a model want it to be shared.
When it's time to implement this feature you can have a look there for some inspiration I think.

@dansup @loops is loops not FOSS software? I feel like how it has been presented so far is as a FOSS alternative to TikTok, however the TOS seems to make it seem as if loops, or at least the majority of it, is closed source. Am I reading it wrong or is this not an open source platform?

@ThatOneGuyT_T @loops It will be open sourced once we reach a stable state, we have grant funding on the line, which requires this to be open source, so don't worry!

@dansup @loops okay thank you so much for this!! Excited for loops, because of TikToks issues I never had an account, I'm so excited for loops!
