I’ve been watching a films about South Africa apartheid today. I was a little girl when it ended, and when these films were made and I can’t believe anyone who saw that in real-time and then the popular cultural representations and now can’t recognize what Israel is doing to Palestine.
@LALegault I was there, I was 8 years old when Apartheid ended and 12 years old when Nelson Mandela was elected as president. That era and everything that happened since and before then had huge impacts on all South Africans, which is why it saddens so many of us to see history repeated in so many regions of the world.
