An instance might not be aware of all accounts (users), that "starred" a post.

Btw. In it is a like activity, that is sent to the instance, that hosts the post.

It's clearly possible to get an accurate count of likes. Why isn't that shown by default?

And if the "estimate" like count is so drastically off, why is it shown at all?

And if the app has fetched the accurate like count once, why isn't it shown instead of the imprecise estimate?
