Eth0:2025 Autumn will take place in Someren, the Netherlands from Friday, the 31st of October 2025, 18:00 and last all weekend, until 02 November 17:00. @eth0 you know what's missing both in the announcement and the site? a description of what eth0 is. It's the first time I heard about it and I have no idea if I want to go or not.
#Eth0 is a DIY high-tech geek conference, aiming toward sharing knowledge on technology and IT related fields including hardware, #electronics, 3D printers, networks, #programming, privacy, ethics and #hacking. By day participants hack away at projects & when the sun goes down it's time for beer, club-mate, games - party or chill out! There's always a ton of techy activities, a loaded-out bar and an abundance of #hackerspace activity. Maybe someone brings along lasers to complete the party!
@mdione That's a pretty good point. We will add some more info. We're a small event mostly running on people who know what it is and word-of-mouth, but honestly the announcement has made a lot more rounds than initially expected!

Once a boss told me to spell it "maté" because it felt like an imperative in the phrase "go get some coffee, tea or mate" :)
Is there anything in it that makes sense to tape (I'm old!) and put online?
@joepie91 We strive to be accomodating to everyone. We will have CO2 monitoring in the different areas, ventilation will be applied as much as possible.. Air scrubbers/filters would be great but we are not sure we can afford them - event finances are quite tight. Some tips or sponsoring would definitely be welcome here.
In terms of COVID, there will be tests and masks available on site but testing is not mandatory. We ask all visitors to perform a voluntary test upon entering the event.

@joepie91 In general terms the rule is, feel sick, take a test and/or go home; think of the health of your fellow hackers. Tests and masks will be prominently and freely available on venue. 2/2
