Grumbling about Nedbank
(Helping my father with his financial stuff)
Nedbank has removed the ability to phone a specific branch. You can only call the national call center.
The national call center can't tell you whether forms you handed in at the branch have been process or not.
You have to go in to the branch to do that. They don't even have an email address you can use. Apparently the individual staff have email addresses, but when I gave them the staff member's name, they couldn't give me her email address. I asked her for her address when I was there last, and she said she'd send me an email, which she did not.
So in this amazing age of information technology, the only way to know the status of my application is to go to the branch and sit in queue.
Wonderous.
Grumbling about Nedbank
@Zumbador Fantastic. Conversely, I once went to my FNB branch to find out something about my credit card (??? I think) and they... sat me down by a phone, dialled the credit card division, and passed the phone to me. So that was definitely my time well spent.

@highvoltage @confluency Honestly it's infuriating. You go in to the branch at FNB only to be told to phone their standard switchboard help that you could do from home.
@Zumbador @highvoltage Apparently this is because the different divisions of FNB effectively operate as completely separate companies; they just pretend to be able to cooperate with each other, like a bunch of squirrels in a trenchcoat.
The squirrels would probably be better at customer service.
@confluency @highvoltage Really? That is fascinating, I had no idea!
