I have generally believed in democracy, as the most fair way to do things.

But sadly that only works when the majority of people are actually well enough educated on the most basic things.

I fear that indeed democracy is leading to idiocracy. I don’t have a better idea though. Weighting/limiting votes creates worse options for manipulation.

They voted for him, and what he was planning was not hidden. They literally voted for a dictator.
