Reading people talk about bad experiences with their partners, and thinking, "Oh, so you have partners? Sounds lovely. Must be nice."

If you're over 30 and feel lonely you may as well kill yourself because dating (and life in general) after 30 is LONELY AS FUCK.

@contrapunctus I'm sorry you are experiencing this grief. These feelings are very real and very valid.

I have been in much the same place in my 20s and 30s. Eventually I learned that one has to find joy and satisfaction in single life, not just consider it a temporary state awaiting some better future.

I am partnered now but I never forgot that lesson, and people who tie all their self esteem to a relationship can be very unhappy even when partnered.

Friends will move away, or get married and drift away, or just die. Your parents will die. People of your age - the rare few who aren't already married - will have no time or the desire for dating.

All that will be left behind is you, in a vast and uncaring world.

I dunno what more to say. It's very easy to convince yourself of everything being bad. I've done that to myself before.
