Funny story: the rather specific combination of orchestral music, electronic noise in the background and peculiar source of inspiration almost instantly made me think of this compilation for the Icelandic record label Kitchen Motors I've had in my collection for nearly 25 years:

And as was looking for a link to share here, I found out that Jóhann Jóhannsson was one of the founder of that label!! Though I guess Iceland is a pretty small place, so this is maybe not that surprising after all 😄​

@jmtd Jóhann Jóhannsson is also a member of the Apparat Organ Quartet, featuring on tracks 6, 7 and 8 on that compilation.

She did perform with Mùm for a while, which is the first act on the aforementioned compilation (and the reason I bought the disc way back when).
