Most days start with coffee for me. But some days call for tea. Today is such a day. A wonderful, simple breakfast tea with milk and sugar. what's your typical first thing to sip?

@jwildeboer
Water first, then tea.

@jwildeboer i usually drink some water before leaving bed.
but after leaving bed, its warm oatmilk with coco or with vanilla. sometimes with an added espresso, only sometimes though

@jwildeboer Grain coffee with oat milk.

@jwildeboer
Tea and tea and tea. :))
And sometimes water.

@jwildeboer I love tea, it is magic, it is life. At any other time of day, give me tea. But it's also far too subtle for first thing in the morning, that early cup tastes like dishwater. Coffee wins.

@jwildeboer Karnemelk (sorry for the dutch)

Edit: Had to look it up. Buttermilk!

@jwildeboer

Technically... Technically water is my first drink right when I get up. Chug a glass to fix post sleep dry throat

Then comes the medically necessary coffee. 😆

@jwildeboer I usually have a coffee mid-morning, or tea if I'm in the office. Nothing first thing.

@jwildeboer Water, then much later, Lapsang sweetened with xylatol and cut half and half with nummy tart cherry juice.

@jwildeboer Some days it’s coffee, some days it’s fizzy water or a NOCCO (a sugarfree energy drink). Depends on the day, how I’m feeling and whether it’s a busier morning at work.

@jwildeboer Milk (full)

@jwildeboer Sun tea. Ice cold and as dark as I can get it. Definitely no sweeteners or other add-ons. I'll usually down between 1-3 pints, depending in how the early morning's going. Working on pint #2 as we speak.

Photo of a left hand holding an insulated green and black aluminum beverage container. In the background is a running dumbbox, with scattered dog toys on the floor in front.

@jwildeboer Energy drink mix. Easy way to get my B12.

@jwildeboer Guaraná. Does not seem to be a common drink outside Brazil, unfortunately.

(There are carbonated Guaraná soft drinks, but the ones I drink in the morning are not carbonated; they come as a concentrated syrup to be diluted in water before drinking.)

@jwildeboer
No coffee, no function 😜

@jwildeboer Orange juice with breakfast, though typically followed by coffee in short order

@jwildeboer A Monster …

@jwildeboer I love having a good cup of coffee, but it’s hard sometimes for my body to be ok with it 😹 . So tea is my go to for most mornings. My husband likes tea every day (all day 😹) and he cannot drink coffee at all because it gives him headaches. So yup! Tea it is!!! 🩷🫖☕️🩷

@jwildeboer

Water (½l), later coffee.

I had to arrive on an empty stomach for blood tests years ago - and took that too seriously by not eating and drinking anything in the morning.
My blood was like jelly. No chance.
Water is welcome - nutrients are the problem.

This way I learned, to drink a good amount of water in the morning.

@jwildeboer Also, I know what is most common in most places, except Australia and New Zealand? Seems like they drink both tea and coffee, but not sure if one is dominant in those two countries. I'm guessing that worldwide, more people drink tea than drink coffee.

@jwildeboer Tea.
The whole day through.
There a so many varieties.

@jwildeboer Holy energy drink 1/2 litlre of water with some powder. Give me a new caf boost, that maintain hours, and take my first coffee at work.

@jwildeboer It is tea with breakfast, but coffee is pretty soon after.

@jwildeboer I'm content to start the day with either, to be honest.

@jwildeboer
First water because we lose a lot while sleeping, then coffee, sometimes tea.

@jwildeboer Japanese green tea

@jwildeboer CBSé Guarana yerba mate, brewed as one would brew tea (I never learned how to use the gourd and bombilla even though I have those as well) with some honey. It gives the proper kick I need to get my morning started up.

Can’t drink coffee anymore. It interferes with my medication for some reason but yerba mate works just as well, without the negative effects. 🤌

@jwildeboer often enough, a protein shake. Tea when we don't feel like starting too healthy.

@jwildeboer fresh ground Chemex or V60 pour over for me. Every morning for last 5 years. I also got a Wilfa coffee maker for the Christmas advent time or when it calls for more than one cup in the morning :)

@jwildeboer
Coffee with milk and little sugar is my go to morning beverage, but my wife switches between coffee and tea.

My dad was stationed in England when I was a kid, so even after returning to the States, tea with milk and sugar was a regular beverage in our house.

My wife and I often have tea as an evening beverage: Hers something herbal, mine something strong (Irish Breakfast) with milk and honey / sugar.

@jwildeboer I mostly drink water. Occasionally a cola or hot chocolate. Hate coffee, not into tea.

@jwildeboer First water, then a morning espresso ☕️

@jwildeboer I wash my tablets down with a mouthful of water but I don't regard that as my first sip

@jwildeboer An orange juice -100% orange, freshly squeezed, unpasteurised, unhomogenised, not from frozen, not from concentrate.

I'm picky, but otherwise I'm just drinking orange cordial.

@jwildeboer

Never, ever coffee. I realise this could get me fedibanned, but I'm still not drinking the stuff. 🤮 Don't @ me! 😂

Milk, I guess, on my cereal, is the only first drink I have regularly.
Soft drink & water are in the fridge. Easy.

Sometimes tea (weak black), when camping. Also easy. Teabags weigh nothing & take up very little space. I'm already carrying everything else needed.

@jwildeboer i start my day by desperately guzzling somewhere around 750ml (25fl.oz) of water, lest i dessicate.

@jwildeboer
Caffeine drink such as Monster or Celsius.

@jwildeboer I usually start my day with a Kaba for breakfast, once I start working I tend to make a whole batch of Tea(Assam mixed with fruit tee) which lasts me until lunch

@jwildeboer Hot chocolate.

@jwildeboer Coffee with a pinch of nutmeg or cinnamon

@jwildeboer
some days coffee
some days tea
some days whisky
some all three

@jwildeboer Honesty demands I answer "water". I wake up, and I take my esomeprazole with water.

After that, though, I take coffee. Typically I would take coffee until lunch time, what you'd call "espresso". Neat.

Then back to water after lunch because I want to be able to sleep at night.

When I'm out, very rarely, I might indulge in a cappucino. THEN I take sugar.

@jwildeboer Water, then as soon as the coffee is ready (filter coffee makes itself while I shower and shave), coffee.

@jwildeboer Water, plenty thereof. And then energy drinks (I need the caffeine but can't stand coffee for unknown but sad reasons)

@jwildeboer I drink a lot of tea. 20 cups a day. I’m considering going decaf or at least better understanding whether or how I’m relying on caffeine to regulate myself

@DukeDuke @jwildeboer I love those flasks. Have you ever had to replace the gasket in the lid?

@jwildeboer Fruit juice. My shot of vit C

@jmtd @jwildeboer Zero issues with it over the past few years of daily use. I went through numerous plastic containers before finding this baby, and I couldn't be more pleased with it.

@jwildeboer Usually it's coffee and a glass of water, but occasionally I go for tea (Russian Caravan) instead of the coffee.

@jwildeboer Diet Pepsi. Like an absolute degenerate. Considering switching to coffee but making it takes precious seconds.

@jwildeboer
I indicated water but it is usually followed by coffee a few minutes later. The morning pills go better with water, too.

@jwildeboer @franksting Matcha or brewed chai
