If you set it lower then the kids who won’t turn up still won’t turn up because they/their parents don’t give a shit anyway, while the kids that DO turn up now only have to turn up 95% of the time and still be compliant so get an extra day or so off with school’s blessing?

@GossiTheDog @ISO8601 One of my local school districts paid $2.5 million for a detection system that flagged a student’s empty Doritos bag as a gun, leading to his arrest. The system has only a 50-50 chance of positively identifying and actual weapon.

@GossiTheDog I question where the data is coming from and how trustworthy it is. ISPs could certainly report on traffic to specific VPN vendors, or to IKE VPNs, but that won't cover all VPN vendors.

Site logs could show access from VPN endpoints, but how many sites are ofcom asking?

Sniffing at making Internet transfer ports could show access from VPN vendors.

All of them have problems or will be incomplete, let alone the legal mess of getting this data.

TL;DR I will be very cynical about the output from this.
