One exception: a bot which sends a 'hey, no recent updates here, is this still an issue, if no reply is received we'll auto close in two weeks', and then respects that timeline and promise.
Because keeping stale issues open helps nobody.

not everyone responds to notifs or constantly watches notifs.
even with that, I have seen HUNDREDS of issues that I later myself encountered which were closed like that.
@wouter issues do not have a "shelf life"
you can leave them open.
@solonovamax maybe we should write a freshbot that opens a new issue with the same OP and links to the old discussion.
