@khubsuratinsaan oh yes they started more intra state routes a while back ... which I dislike, they use their common fleet for it so less 12 meters for the overcrowded city, all while these big non "coach" buses run capped at 40 km/h on highways

@disaster2life as far as I have seen in the dashboard, a lot of buses have removed the speed cap though

@khubsuratinsaan I assume thats just the sticker? afaik its straight up illegal for city buses to go over a 40km/h speed limit, i will double check the legal code, but I remember articles going back to 2005ish talking about some city buses being illegally modified to remove their speedcap

@khubsuratinsaan https://traffic.delhipolice.gov.in/general-information seems to be a Delhi wide speed limit for any sort of transportation vehicle. https://busesandvans.tatamotors.com/assets/buses/files/2024-11/616-24-Tata%20Motors-EV-Bus-Starbus-4-12.pdf seems to imply the buses are rated for upto 70 km/h, but I believe it is still limited for the buses the DTC buys so I assume even the ones crossing the border might be limited physically

@disaster2life I am talking about the new blue buses who have a big screen right next to the driver. It earlier showed a speed limit of 40. But nowadays I see 60 or sometimes even 99. So the bus does go above 40, but thankfully not above 50.

@disaster2life I am not sure about that 99 number. But I am pretty sure I saw 60 multiple times.

@khubsuratinsaan I have no clue what bus you might be referring to there

@disaster2life the JBM bus of switch.

@disaster2life right there are too many blue buses right now.

@khubsuratinsaan ...? JBM is an independent company, Switch is a subsidary of Ashok Leyland, not sure I know what you mean again

@disaster2life aah damn it I will just send the pick

@disaster2life it says JBM and Switch in the front of the bus

@khubsuratinsaan fair! I mean at least if the Haryana Traffic Police's website is to be believed the national limit is 65, so I would be amazed if those buses go to 99, unsure if the electric motors can pull that off

@disaster2life I think someone just put anything there that the software allowed them to put. I am still not sure about that 99 number though. At least it's 60.

@khubsuratinsaan oh! no those are just JBM EcoLife (12 meters), Switch Delhi is just a campaign encouraging Delhi people to _switch_ thats not affiliated to SWITCH the Ashok Leyland brand; and the JBM EcoLife buses I have ridden have all had the sticker saying 40 km/h

@disaster2life should be 80 then. I will check tomorrow for OMS.

@disaster2life sticker? Didn't you check their electronic screen for driver? It says right at the top the speed limit, if CCTV is not opened.

@khubsuratinsaan fair! report back! if I can get myself to leave my house tomorrow i'll try and go bus spotting!

@khubsuratinsaan I have seen those, mostly on the PMI Regios, but I believe those just read the dynamic speed limit of the street for the cars, I don't believe those take into account the buses being speed limited

@disaster2life it does show the speed limit set for the bus. I did check. Buses automatically decelerate once the hit 40 limit.

@disaster2life and that the limit is different, sometimes 40 and sometimes 60.

@disaster2life i will click a photo for you, and ask the driver if i am too brave

@khubsuratinsaan that sounds wrong then? I mean the traffic police says its 40 for EVERYWHERE, I know the behaviour of the PMI buses on the Noida Flyover where they just top out and drive only at 40km/h, don't remember any bus going faster

@khubsuratinsaan yes please! I am sure @delhi_transport_corporation will be happy to hear about this, because I am riled up
