Is OneDrive serious software used by actual people? I’ve been sent a share link to some files which aren’t numerous or especially large and it’s sending me ZIPs at about 10kiB/s which end up containing only half the files and an apologetic __all_errors.txt listing the missing ones. 🤡🤡🤡

This is both slower and less reliable than my 1990s dialup modem

@jmtd Serious people don't use M$ products.

@jmtd OneDrive is SharePoint, coerced into looking like a filesystem, over the internet, as a service.

It is embarrassingly bad.

Modern Microsoft is generally embarrassingly bad, and its hardcore fans are actually proud of these tools.

Hi!
There is many way to share files nowadays, without depending giant big tech firms.
Look at Nextcloud, or apps in Yunohost.org
It's easy to host. Why not one for a short time ? (It's really addictive)

@jmtd If at all possible, avoid it and the rest of that suite.

I'm forced to use it for work and have nothing but problems every time I have to interact with it. It doesn't even show you everything that's in a directory. The sync function is laughably terrible. The entire SharePoint/O365 ecosystem has no theming consistancy; is there something fundamentally against darkmode?

@lproven @jmtd Many universities have been suckered into not only using it but blocking everything else. It's the Christian Rock of file sharing.

@lautreg @mdione I run my own nextcloud. This was files someone else was sharing to me, so they made the choice of onedrive, not me
