My 40 year old GDR-made blender just shit the bed, and I began taking it apart and putting it back together, trying to find the problem, still didn't work. But then percussive maintenance got the job done.
@anarchiv might be worn out carbon brushes for the motor. But yeah, those were made to last, unlike nowadays.
