Was too tired yesterday, so here goes:
Day one of my #Interrail trip went smooth, Frankfurt to Barcelona without any issues or delays. Going to Valance and the catching the AVE there was a good decision since it avoids the journey via Paris. After spending the night in Barcelona and enjoying a nice morning now I am on my way to Madrid where I'll stay until Sunday. #CrossBorderRail #sustainabletravel

#Interrail Day 2:
Traveling from Madrid-Chamartin to Valladolid.
Then I will be taking a bus from there to my destination in Portugal. Spain's high speed rail is really impressive, and it is really satisfying to travel that way. Trains that travel at ~ 230 km/h on average, run punctual, and are modern. Compared to German ICE trains this is another world. I wish they would also work that way, but it's kinda sad a sad state of affairs with NIMBYs blocking every new track.

#Interrail Day 3:
After arriving in Vallodolid again, I'll be travelling to San Sebastian today. This is just a slow regional train, so I'll be arriving quite late there.

#Interrail Day 4: Took the regional Eusoktren Metro (with weird 1 m rail gauge); which took me to Hendaye, France. From there I borded a TGV to my next destination, Bordeaux. However, because a train further ahead broke down, I had to wait in Dax then.
Fortunately, I was able to take the regional TER then which got me to my destination. Currently resting from the scorcing heat outside (40 C)

#interrail Day 5:
After spending yesterday exploring Bordeaux and having a breathtaking experience in Bassins des Lumieres, I am now on my way back. I'll be going to Paris where I need to change trains/railway stations, and from there back to Frankfurt. We left Bordeaux with a delay of 25 minutes, which I hope will be not be too much to miss my connection.

@olasd o. O are they, really? Well, hoping for the best, thanks!
@olasd right, that makes sense. In my uni physics class we actually calculated the contraction and expansion of train tracks at some point; given the extreme heat, this is not surprising.

So planned arrival is now 16:33, which means I still should be able to make, albeit it'll be close. But as seasoned Deutsche Bahn traveler very doable.
Of course we arrived way later than that, so now I am stuck at Paris Gare de Est waiting for the next TGV to Frankfurt leaving at 19:06.
Now planned arrival at 2:30 am in Frankfurt #GSMR
