okay, i'm gonna have to wipe my laptop soon, and i was wondering what distro i should put on,

i've been mostly a happy arch user, but have been bitten by regressions in a few updates in a row, and would like to switch to something more stable (in the slow updates sense). i know how to sysadmin, but i don't like to have to do it on a regular basis to keep my system up and running. i don't mind setup being a bit involved!

i need kde plasma to be available in the repos, not switching away from that, and ideally not too old a version as i do like to contribute to kde from time to time! i have tried nixos & immutable, it is not my taste. i would like a very traditional distro!

any recommendations? what do you use? are you happy with it?

@yukijoou gentoo is nice, has stable and testing packages with opt-in per package, has binary packages now, often gets new kde very quickly, openrc and systemd as options, and is overall very stable, but there is a bit of a learning curve for portage

@yukijoou i still use void.
