@navi yeah, I also looked into them. You might be able find to some at Aliexpress, but good luck getting a datasheet then. I will go with a single DP connector for my board for now.
@werdahias not having two screens is a deal breaker for me, and the laptop only has one DP-alt-mode usb-c port per side
so if i went with one port, i'd have to connect both sides to use it, and since i want a tray i can just "slide" my laptop in, that is also a deal breaker
so i'll keep searching, there's some controllers from TI that seemed like they did it, but they didn't name MST on the doc so i dunno

@navi yeah only having one port is also suboptimal for me. Though adding a MST controller once the rest works (which will be already hard) should be trivial
