The French courts yesterday handed down an unfavorable ruling against Quad9 in a major case that undermines the transparency and stability of the internet. As a result, Quad9 will no longer be able to offer its free cyberprotection service to users located in France effective November 24.

@quad9dns How do I say "THAT'S FUCKING INSANE!" in French!?

@quad9dns @highvoltage « Macron démission » is what you're looking for. You're welcome.

@quad9dns This must've been a very frustrating ruling for you to receive. It was ridiculous enough for the German court to find you in contempt for not complying with a technical impossibility, but at least you won in the end. Not so this time. All the same, thank you for standing for an open and private internet.

@quad9dns how would you technically stop serving people in France?

@gbt We are considering our options. Won't be perfect, but it should significantly reduce our legal risk while allowing us to be consistent with our mission and principles.

@feudjais @quad9dns @highvoltage I concur and if I may, "Macron explosion" might be an even better translation in this particular context (but maybe too literal)

@quad9dns Very disappointing result 😞 Keep up the great work tho 💪😎
