@werdahias interesting. I should get that book one of these days. Sadly I think I should focus more on verilog for my job than C. C is fun to write however

@werdahias I have the c++ book by bjarne and I haven’t even read some of it yet. I gotta buy Ritchie’s C book too. C is honestly pretty fun to write.

Today was a big day in Debian. I took up a severe RC bug for python-papermill and somehow managed to fix it with the help of other DDs. It was a fun experience working together with everyone.

@disaster2life @sounddrill @keouck @lunarequest glad I’m not the only one with very low levels of Indian-ness

@praveen @fossunited @prav It's time we had a conference based purely on free software principles. Open-Source has become the new buzz word for companies these days to get work done for free by contributors.

I finally recovered from all of the post flu symptoms and I'm back to Debian work. Dark Souls is probably easier than setting up GBP though.

Fixed the memory leaks, covers v0.1.0 is now live! Use it for your C projects if you want: https://codeberg.org/covers/covers

What started out as a project to learn C better turned out to be a bigger free software project. Teasing my upcoming free software project - covers, a package/library manager for C. The repository is now live and v0.1.0 is in the works. I'm a masochist so I wrote a package manager in pure C with no scripts. I just need to fix some memory leaks before releasing v0.1.0.

Did a very risky thing with my debian install today. My debian only had 200gb allocation and didn't have enough space to install games so I used gparted to harvest storage from a windows drive and add it to my debian install and safe to say that it went well. It's time for some debian gaming now ;)

After being with the fediverse for about 2 months now, I've decided to make personal accounts on it. No more personal posts on this account.

Follow my Mastodon @aryanfc1 and Pixelfed @aryanfc1 accounts for my future personal posts :)

I'm currently writing an academic paper on open source technologies that use XMPP and IRC and I'm conducting an anonymous survey to receive inputs from the users and what they think about the services.

If you're a user of these protocols, please fill this form:

It's fully anonymous and a hosted by a free software google forms alternative called formbricks

re: rant, bullshit social policies, moral policing
@disaster2life @libreinator @badrihippo @praveen the extreme gender segregation in India is something that I’ll never get over. Most guys in my college don’t know how to talk to women and often objectify them because they don’t know that they’re humans because they never interacted much with them.

Finally got into The Elder Scrolls franchise with Skyrim. Oblivion was really too dated for me. I think I’ll buy Oblivion Remastered when I get a new console.

C is so amazing that I bunked a lecture to write a C project, spent 3 hours on #c on libera.chat fixing the issues during a web programming lab lecture and another 3 hours after college only to fix strcat() and strcmp() without using LLMs which would’ve taken 1 minute. It’s fun.

@disaster2life yeah that’s the plan. The projects on GitHub once finished will have their clones on Codeberg. Although it’s better if there’s some kind of GitHub actions or something to sync the clones on Codeberg. Let me know if there is any.

@disaster2life @contrapunctus have fun at the conference!

I’ve decided to return to GitHub in limited capacity as a lot of companies check GitHub during job interviews. Only my profession related projects will be posted on GitHub while all of my hobby or free software projects will be hosted on Codeberg as usual.

@disaster2life jeez, crazy to realise that we were less than 20km away from each other an hour or two ago

@disaster2life oh i guess you're in my state now

@disaster2life sometimes its better to do no work and enjoy the journey :)
