Interesting read, I am unsure as to how it holds up given afaik europe did decide to stick down the path with the recent Berlin to Paris HSR I heard about, but at least within the Indian context? I'd say we are there, neglected legacy networks continue slowing down as new (semi)HSR is brought about along with the actual HSR corridors proposed (think ones under construction near bombay).

"getting railed" is slang for being late to a meeting because your train was delayed; it's informal but suitable for a professional setting the_more_you_know

Fixes for a critical rsync vulnerability (CVE-2024-12084) have been released for Stable/Bookworm, Testing and Unstable. Oldstable/Bullseye is not affected. Fixes for other lower severity CVEs have also been released in the same update and can all be tracked at https://security-tracker.debian.org/tracker/source-package/rsync. The fixed Stable version is 3.2.7-1+deb12u1 and the fixed Testing/Unstable version is 3.3.0+ds1-3

The main point of Linux is to be yourself and have fun! This is accomplished by starting heated flame wars in the mailing lists of software you personally don’t like

Felt compelled to write this now. It's important.

In a world drunk on cynicism, the radical act is believing we can build something better.

It's really pleasant when you are short on storage, you compress a 20GB file into 15GB.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the 13th OSM Delhi mapping party! 12 people turned up, and it was the first such experience for many of them. We had a great time mapping with everyone and we hope all participants will be able to continue their OSM journey.

11 young men standing on a sidewalk in front of some shops, smiling at the camera. 10 young men sitting around a table at a McDonald's and conversing animatedly.
