@theakashmondal @contrapunctus "find some middle ground", I hate this issue is still somethinf that riles up nationalists, Both the RoI and IRoP claim ABSOLUTE control of the region, (Minus Pakistan's acknowledgement of Chinese Claims), Line of Actual Control **is** the middle ground between displaying a fully controlled J&K by India, or by Pakistan.

I hope you do not forget, especially here, appeasing to one side (India) leaves out the other (Pakistan).

local furry bought a map board from an old Orange Line train car and turned it into a real-time train location display

@badrihippo /me wonders if the snac webclient works on rhe inbuilt web browser ;p

Black and white line cartoon by @davewalker.bsky.social, titled "Possible causes of your problems". Under the "yes" side are funding removed from local communities; growing gap between rich and poor; multinational companies not paying their taxes; lack of affordable housing; government not sufficiently investing in schools and healthcare. Under the "no" side is "people fleeing horrific situations that you and I can't imagine".

In Europe.

Run by volunteers of @cavallette, perfectly legal, and decidedly antifascist, feminist, queer.

Destroyed and shut down by Trump's administration, extra legally.

It is astonishingly quiet.

When it comes to the shutdown of Autistici/Inventati we really should reserve most of our anger for our leaders right here in Europe. They allowed this to happen.

Sure, the US government is beyond evil and before that, optimistically, merely problematic. But they only hold this power over Europe and European companies, initiatives and whatnot because we've allowed for it. That's on us.

The shutdown of A/I saddens me but it is also the only reasonable choice they had and they should be commended not wanting to cause harm to their users.

Europe needs to do better. Today. There's absolutely no reason for us to be in this embarrassingly submissive position.

@cavallette

recrimped, second one was certainly better than the first one, but for the short distance I was deploying this, ~2 meters, it can somehow do GIGABIT over this trash??? no more issues with no carrier being detected, and now the family is happy that the internet is better, already figured out what I need to crimp next thankfully. Physical networking is a fun dopamine hit in between all the shit happening.

so apparently the CAT5E precrimped cable I bought like 5 years ago for cheap ... turns out to be cheap shit! Finally bought crimping equipment, got ready to repurpose it for something else, cut it open, its UTP cable for "UnTwisted Pair" that isnt even colour coded correctly, and pretty sure its very much NOT copper of course, great fun of what to do now. No wonder I could not get my intel ethernet adapter to work over this crap
Stripped end of one of the cable, 8 cables with non standard coloured jackets spill out with some exposing a decidedly non copper looking core! my cheap ethernet crimper in the background too :)

/ Inventati are closing down.

I am speechless.

A/I is history.

"A/I is shutting down. The Autistici/Inventati collective is shutting down and will soon discontinue all of the services we provide.

There is no easy way to announce or explain this.

Every day we stayed online after August 26, 2026, has been a victory, but now we are forced to stop."

@arcticons Yup, I think existing tooling is what keeps most people on github, but any step forward is alwats great!

@arcticons wooooo!! Hope delta joins soon :)

if anyone has protobuf experience with golang, I would love to hear from you because I feel like im currently alone drowning in this agony, would be nice to be rescyed / drowm with someone! :)

[that smiley face hides the deep resentment I have come to harbor for protobufs since i started this project]

WE DID IT. WE WON. ๐Ÿ’œโœŠ

Weโ€™re so proud of everyone who built this union, and this win belongs to our whole community. We could not have done it without the solidarity of Wikimedia volunteers.

This is just the beginning. We stand with our UK siblings in their recognition process now, and with future organizing efforts across WMFโ€™s global workforce. ๐ŸŒ
