@LALegault I don't like TikTok, it has many problems, but the way that the American leaders describe it make me actually want to install it. TikTok couldn't wish for a better marketing campaign.
@LALegault @GM7077 good!
@splitbrain A company I worked for previously had a coding workshop for project managers where they had to write a simple program from a guide, and then again where they had to fix a bug in a program, they found it very enlightening!
@LALegault @GM7077 odd, my feed is full of people who hate every president everywhere. I guess we follow very different people!
Fal Out Boy - We didn't start the fire
@valhalla Approved!
I don't know much about the future, but I know that it will be highly optimized in every way you can't imagine.

@alsternerd @badmaxx Palestine isn't Hamas the same way that the Israelis aren't their government. You literally apply a double standard in your statement. Also, Hamas's actions in no way justifies a genocide against the Palistinians.
@alsternerd @badmaxx Germans are fucking weird, they'll so "No Nazis" but then blatantly support Israel who are also committing a genocide against a people.
re: wrong
@LucasWerkmeister I always thought it was the GNU/Debian Project Leader.
@mjg59 I don't think so. Humans and LLMs learn very differently from each other. If I looked at some proprietary code 10 years ago and assimilate how it works, it's going to get integrated into all my existing knowledge and creativity when I do something new with it. Existing LLMs often do things like regurgitate existing code perfectly, complete with typos in function names, when that happens I consider it more processing of existing code than learning and practicing
@mjg59 My 2c? If it's released under a free license then it's /generally/ good enough for me. However, it depends how that LLM learned to write that program. Did it study books from program languages and learn to write code and practiced making programs until it figured it out? Or is it effectively merely processing other people's code and performing some form of plagiarism?
@Thef4ult As a kid in South Africa I had no idea what an "EPA Pollution Preventer" was but it was the coolest thing ever seeing that logo fade away.
@khleedril Not sure if Google really deletes anything, really
@ttyS1 I use stock Android. I am (or was) signed in to my google account there. Will be interesting to see how it freaks out. I used Nextcloud and lots of free and self hosted stuff, so I'm not worried at all about contact/calendars/etc.
I finally deleted my Google account today and didn't instantly die. Perhaps this will be easier than I thought?
@retrogamegeeks I did. And my name will live forever in the ANALS OF CIVILIZATION!
@littlealex Then there are curious people like us who really want to see how the tape will make the VCR set on fire!
