South African general elections are coming up later this month... and there's absolutely no one worth voting for. Really depressing.
@LALegault Realistically, he's unlikely to survive the start of any legal proceedings, and he probably knows it, it also makes him a convenient scapegoat for everyone who backs him

@mjg59 I think the answer has proven itself. Free software is the solution. If xz-utils were a piece of proprietary software, it would take much, much longer to have found this. Also, I shudder to think how much crap is shipped along with seemingly legit android apps out there, also why I refuse to log in to things like Debian's gitlab instance from my phone

@cas I guess it depends what you consider a deadlines. Artificial deadlines are harmful and counter-productive. I try to focus on what's the most important thing(s) to do today. There will always be a backlog of stuff that needs to be done and it's enriching to get used to that idea. That's my 2c anyway.
@jwildeboer Absolutely. I marvel at the prompt and efficient response by everyone involved. In the proprietary software world there would still be denial that there even is a problem.

@LALegault I haven't been able to follow in recent days but yeah they definitely need proper representation. Not sure that too much should rest in South Africa, perhaps Ireland and other sympathetic countries too?
