@textfiles I dunno how your experience compares but I did Czech trains (Brno<->Prague) in September and regular class was a hundred times better than any UK train I’ve experienced (Inc. first class)

10/10 will travel again

re: Mildly graphic
@znoteer thank you! He seems to be doing really well

Mildly graphic
Post-op kitty
sensitive media
Cat looking toward the camera wearing an Elizabethan collar and with a swollen right eyelid

@revk @steve @neil @adrian @computer when I moved to FTTP I ended up opting for the bottom speed tier, after thoroughly considering my needs, and still feel like I should have surrendered my nerd card

Cat seems to be recovering well!

@foosel a fellow nerd. I learned of you thanks to Octoprint, but I follow people who write about more than just one thing (and you do)

@d0pefish I just did a week in Portland. Used max size cabin luggage and 0 hold way out, with a fold-out bag for hold on way back

@d0pefish I hope you left space in your luggage for goodies!

@mjg59 I once had one of those hella-thick programming books from the early 00’s “Linux programming interface” which was clearly a hastily rewritten old UNIX book. Lots of STREAMS. (But also the relevant stuff, sockets, FIFOs, etc). The cover had a shot of the two authors wearing suits and ties. That should have been a red flag 🚩

@eriol thanks! Might be today

@d0pefish awesome! I’m sure you’ll have a great time. Travelling around much?

@d0pefish how long are you out there for?

@numbertheory @molly0xfff have they done anything to historic tweets?

Historic pleroma URIs seem ok

I can’t claim to be a digital native, so perhaps I’m a digital migrant.

@timbray one thing I’ve found (using such a thing in an email signature) is there can often be disagreement about how wide the resulting glyph should be. Luckily not always important

Cat survived reconstructive surgery. Haven’t seen pics yet. He’ll be in for a few more nights.

@brennen @mhoye this year, the old-school can opener on mine has been a life saver

@mhoye don’t rip the leaves out of spiral-bound note books and date every page

Emma Barnett's last Woman's Hour before maternity leave and she's left blood on the floor and walls after interviewing health minister Helen Whately

And quite rightly too: not accepting that parrot point "Steve Barclay's door is open" nonsense

Cat in for surgery. Nerve-wracking
