@metacosm sort of yeah. Mostly UK layout, but I switched the backspace key so I could put two keys there instead.

My new BS key is getting a lot of use

Just spent ~30 mins evaluating some software that I am convinced nobody else has ever actually run, it had such immediately egregious bugs

jfc, 30k laid off at oracle, things are looking incredibly dire for it at the moment

Should I toot about ice-skating more? Is there an ice-skating Mastodon subculture?

That page is rendered totally broken for me on mobile, which may or may not be related

@elmiko exactly! Hehe

I “released” some containers last night. Several infrastructure bugs meant that I couldn’t attach any JIRAs to the release, so they’re not closed, and I can’t pull the containers from the registry. So if you can’t pull a container, is it really there?

@neil we could quibble on “you know me”, but the rest is fine.

Way back in the day a friend had to move an Apple Xserve across London to get it racked, and because massively rich South Africans are stingy with money he couldn't expense a cab so took it on the underground and someone looked at him, looked at the Xserve, looked back at him and said "That's a fucking big iPod"

Ender 3 v4 looks interesting

What are the odds of Apple unveiling a mini iPhone again this year? It’s been awhile.

The number of static site generators appears to be increasing faster than the number of blog posts

Finished “Robocop: rogue city” so I uninstalled it. Then I thought I’d check out the art book, but it’s “DLC”, so the steam client will only let me download it if I reinstall 30G of game first. (I’m fairly sure there’s some obscure runes to download the “depot” to work around this)

Plugged my synth back in. That’s a start.

@fred @metacosm ha ha it’s okay. 8u hasn’t had the benefit of lots of the improvements to this stuff that have landed in later versions. It seems pretty hard to convince the test suite not to fork one Java instance for each core I have. The trouble is I have a lot of cores

@fred @metacosm no I’d celebrate it if it happened to me ;) my current status: repeatedly OOM and hard locking my workstation trying to run jdk8u tier1 tests

@zhenech argh!

@zhenech oh cripes. Mine is still there, albeit I can only access it about 50% of the time
