Heimreise kurz nach Sonnenaufgang während #MonacoF läuft mit "Sun geht auf". Basst.

Already uncovered two minor upstream bugs for crates built on the buildds, and provided a patch for the first one.

Today I hit a record number of 106 (!) commits. Mostly just semiautomated upload commits, but nevertheless a lot of work.

@agrantler @release_candidate yeah I read that post. But amalgamating yet another system component into systemd will just shift a possible privilege escalation to run0. And since that is interwoven with systemd that could have disastrous consequences.

@release_candidate I hppe this is a shittoot, this is one of the gravest issues in Linux imo. Entrusting more and more things to systemd will inevitably lead to a major security issue sonner or later. I know why I use #OpenRC with #Debian on most of my machines, considering to try #doas, too.

So some 90 commits and a ton of uploads later GTK-rs 0.8 is available in #Debian unstable. This saw the removal of gtk3-rs first and a transition to nix 0.27 first. It's still building atm, but looks good so far. Applications consuming it like Railway will be uploaded subsequently. I still need to finish the zbus 4.0 update though, this blocks me from updating e.g. Loupe to 46.0

@emoryr not a parent, but Ada and Zangemann seems like a good read: https://nostarch.com/ada-zangemann

@grillchen yeah, that's sad. The police are still pushing for mass surveillance at every given opportunity; it's so tiringm

@grillchen always has been.

@decathorpe o.O Well it still is only available in experimental, and still blocked on other stuff. Most notably the time_t transition in Debian. With gtk3 removed it'll be hopefully become less involved to update all packages.

@brainblasted digitally and legally ? Unlikely. I would get either a library card or buy the disks themselves so you can make copies.

... and GTK3-rs is (almost) removed from the #Debian archive. Since only two programs use that I opted for vendoring it in for those, though I really despise vendoring.
Another blocker for GTK-rs 0.8 cleared.

Me: Ah, I have this part from my electronic parts collection I can use for this project. Surely #KiCad has a matching footprint/symbol for it.
Result: Part not in #KiCad, spend 3 hours and two MRs to add the part.
Note to self: Expect the unexpected.

I had fun though, it's been some time since I had to create a footprint from scratch.

Also hopefully others can make use of my contribution.

@MikeDunnAuthor There is a good German book about it, unfortunately not available in English afaik.

Linux rant
Man it sucks that the best option to switch outputs under a non KDE/GNOME desktop is pavucontrol. I really hate it. I wish there was a nicer option, utilizing piewire.
