#RightToRepair
"Freiheit ist immer Freiheit des anders Denkenden." - Rosa Luxemburg

@brittcoxon Could have a lot of reasons, most likely:
- broken solder joint
- loudspeaker magnet demagnetized
- broken wire
1+3 are reasonably easy to fix, 2 isn't. Good luck finding the culprit!

yeah it's coming along
A pdf detailing the electrical characteristics of the IN-14 nixie tube; still WIP.

Now OCR'ing the original soviet data sheet to get values and measurements since I don't trust the data I found.

There we go (this was a pain to align)
A screenshot of Kicads symbol editor showing the IN-14 nixietube footprint

@cccpresser thanks, will definitly use that for reference. The IN-14 socket/connection is not complicated, still a lot of guessing involved

hm, so there's no footprint / symbol for the IN-14 nixie tube in #KiCad. Guess I'll have to create one.

@itsfoss AI slop 🤮

@fabos me_irl

@z3ntu Yeah, was also quite confused why I had to let my baggae go through screening when I went to Lisbon (through Spain)

@gagath you should! I also gave a talk at miniDC, the important part is that you have fun!

"Capitalism is the extraordinary belief that the nastiest of men for the nastiest of motives will somehow work for the benefit of all."

John Maynard Keynes

@minouette Wanted to print it out and hang up in my flat.

@minouette awesome artwork! Do you have a high-res version by chance?

Ordered a replacement display for my broken phone, and it arrived cracked... -_-

@jmtd yeah, pulseaudio is garbage IMO. Switchted to pipewire and had 0 audio issues since then. Wondering if I still need the pulseaudio compat thing...

Handy bilingual mnemonic for tool use. 🪛🔩

"Rightie tightie, leftie loosie" in Spanish is
"la derecha oprime, la izquierda libera."

[image of a screw with a curved arrow pointing to the left, another identical screw image with an arrow pointing to the right]

Meaning:
"the right oppresses, the left liberates."

#Debian work I did the this month (in no particular order):

- Fixed RC bugs for arduino-ide, rust-graphene, rust-safe-arch, rust-gdk4-sys, arduino-builder and arduino-core-avr
- Fixed a bug in tex-fmt
- Enabled static-built-using for Loupe and glycin
- Uploaded a new version of ani-cli, gnome-podcasts
- Packaged the #treesitter ASM grammar today and uploaded it to NEW

Feeling a bit down given current events, but damn, it's nice to cycle home from work in the sun and overtaking 2 e-bikes and 3 e-scooters just by a muscle-powered bike.

@jmtd yeah, that's unfortunate. I keep also discovering tools that make productive work so much easier; some time ago I switched to #zsh which is just amazing.
Looking back I often wonder how much time I'd have saved. Oh well...
