I will ask chat GPT
I will boil the last of our drinking water
Salt the soil of the scrub-lands
Tear the pages from books and feed them to my fire

I will ask copilot
I will scramble your library
reanimate and puppet the faces of your dead ancestors
I will bury you in poor copies of your dreams

I will ask grok
I will fall silent and never speak to you
I will talk only to myself lost in a maze of my own fantasies
I will forget all who cannot compliment me
I will decouple my soul from this world.

Debian Quebec
#Debian Québec is having its last meeting of the year Saturday 6 December from 10:30 am to 5 pm at the offices of #EfficiOS on the #Plateau #PMR in #Montreal.

Come work on a Debian project or just come and hang out with groovy, sexy Debian types 😁 while working on something else. English, français and portuguĂȘs speakers will be in attendance

I feel this needs to be repeated đŸȘ

The annoyance of cookie banners
doesn't come from the regulations, but from the malicious compliance of the corporations who want to exploit your personal data.

No data-harvesting cookies = No banner.
Simple.

My websites have no cookie banners,
because they don't use any non-essential cookies and don't track visitors.

Yours shouldn't either.

"If you're not on board with AI you're going to get left behind"

Boost if you'd like to be left behind and would consider paying extra for a life without this bullshit.

3k boost edit: everyone who said a variant of "why should I pay" is right, but the world is wrong.

This is my new favorite .

A slide from a Thomson Reuters presentation. At left, a large orange circle with the words Trust, Partnership, Innovation, Performance (one word per line)

At right, a small yellow circle with the words OUR VALUES.

There is a very small overlap between the circles, making it appear to be a Venn diagram with very little overlap between the words at left and the values at right.

Hey, @GrapheneOS You're based in #Canada ! So cool ! My chest is puffed out with a bit of nationalist pride :) Go #grapheneos go!

This thread is worth reading if you are a Google docs user.

Short version: When you export a document from Google Docs, Google replaces all your hyperlinks with links that allows Google to monitor the interactions of everyone you share your document with.

This hidden link replacement can potentially be used to build a model of your professional relations, where people who interact more with your content are considered a stronger relation.

Think about the implications.

Dear Fédiverse, Does anyone know a way to follow someone without seeing their replies to other peoples' posts. I'd like to hear what this org has to say, but I'm getting drowned in the orgs replies to others' posts. I'm on #pleroma if that matters. Thanks for boosting if you have no answer yourself.

Dr. Jane Goodall filmed an interview with Netflix in March 2025 with the understanding it would only be released after her death. In it, she discusses blasting Trump and Musk deep into space and shares the message, "Don't lose hope"

@GrapheneOS /me wishes to express their admiration for the patience and persistence of @GrapheneOS and sends them as large a package of respect as the virtual courier will allow them to ship. They also hope that @GrapheneOS doesn't burn themselves out dealing with this onslaught

Debian & Stuff, Sept 2025
We had a pretty good day with 2 people returning to Montreal after having wandered off for a while, and a fresh attendee, new to Montreal, but not new to Debian, in addition to several of the usual suspects

I am on the hunt for people who make things. Physical things. Physical things in a workshop. Or at home. Or in a studio. Or outside. But they have to be physical things. And you make them. Handmade or with machines.

I’d like to follow you and see what you make.

Please can you boost this post so that I get some reach on this post.

Many thanks.

@fdroidorg uninstalling and reinstalling in the main profile allowed me to install in the sub-account. Don't know why. Unexpected keyboard was already the most recent version in the main profile, but who cares, it's installed now 😁 Thanks so much!!

@fdroidorg PS, everything I've found when searching says to uninstall the previously installed app, but it isn't installed yet (not in this profile at least)

@fdroidorg Thank you, that did the trick! Now, when trying to install @unexpectedkeyboard in the sub-account, I get the error

INSTALL_FAILED_UPDATE_INCOMPATILE: Existing package juloo.keyboard2 signatures do not match newer version; ignoring!

Can you help with this or is this a problem for the app developer?

Thanks
