The annoyance of cookie banners
doesn't come from the regulations, but from the malicious compliance of the corporations who want to exploit your personal data.
No data-harvesting cookies = No banner.
Simple.
My websites have no cookie banners,
because they don't use any non-essential cookies and don't track visitors.
Yours shouldn't either.

3k boost edit: everyone who said a variant of "why should I pay" is right, but the world is wrong.
Hey, @GrapheneOS You're based in #Canada ! So cool ! My chest is puffed out with a bit of nationalist pride :) Go #grapheneos go!
Dear Fédiverse, Does anyone know a way to follow someone without seeing their replies to other peoples' posts. I'd like to hear what this org has to say, but I'm getting drowned in the orgs replies to others' posts. I'm on #pleroma if that matters. Thanks for boosting if you have no answer yourself.
@GrapheneOS /me wishes to express their admiration for the patience and persistence of @GrapheneOS and sends them as large a package of respect as the virtual courier will allow them to ship. They also hope that @GrapheneOS doesn't burn themselves out dealing with this onslaught
Debian & Stuff, Sept 2025
We had a pretty good day with 2 people returning to Montreal after having wandered off for a while, and a fresh attendee, new to Montreal, but not new to Debian, in addition to several of the usual suspects
Debian & Stuff
Debian & Stuff
@fdroidorg uninstalling and reinstalling in the main profile allowed me to install in the sub-account. Don't know why. Unexpected keyboard was already the most recent version in the main profile, but who cares, it's installed now đ Thanks so much!!
@fdroidorg PS, everything I've found when searching says to uninstall the previously installed app, but it isn't installed yet (not in this profile at least)
@fdroidorg Thank you, that did the trick! Now, when trying to install @unexpectedkeyboard in the sub-account, I get the error
INSTALL_FAILED_UPDATE_INCOMPATILE: Existing package juloo.keyboard2 signatures do not match newer version; ignoring!
Can you help with this or is this a problem for the app developer?
Thanks

@fdroidorg PS, I've tried deleting and downloading the apk again 3 times and each time I'm told the apk does not appear valid
fdroidorg@floss.social I just tried to install @fdroidorg from your site and again from the downloaded apk. Both gave me the error that the install failed because the apk appeared invalid. This is on a sub-account on @GrapheneOS Any idea what might be causing this?
Debian Québec
@Debian Québec is having a Debian & Stuff in a couple of weeks to work on Debian or other projects. All welcome. There will be English, French and Portugese speaking people in attendance to answer any questions people may have about Debian.

@conservancy I couldn't be there. Is there a video or even a transcript of the event?
Wet razors
Multi-blade razors are a SHAM. I hadn't used mine a lot for awhile, so I hadn't bought blades for ages. They have become VERY expensive. I used to get 18 for 8 or $10, which was already expensive. Now, they are $35 for 12 blades. ROBBERY.
A friend suggested a safety razor with double edged blades. WHAT! They still make those? Yes!
The blades are way cheaper. So I bought a handle and blades. It shaves easily as closely as a mutliblade and moves across the skin more easily. Big win!

Almost 2 months with Debian and it almost replaced Windows for most of my tasks. Iâve distrohopped between dozens of distros in the past, felt a bit comfortable with Linux Mint but then I was ricing and breaking it too often.
Moved from Ubuntu to Debian for packaging work and Iâve never used a Linux Distro this stable and comfortable to use.
