Apparently macOS safari has a functioning “local web app” feature now. https://www.jwz.org/blog/2023/09/web-apps/ - I’m still sad Firefox resolutely refuses to do this
@jmtd you can still do this with a extensions, but it's pretty hacky. GNOME web can also do PWAs, fwiw.
