someones selling an HP branded 24 port 1 gig managed switch for ~35 euros locally.

I do not need a 24 port switch for my studio apartment, i do not need a 24 port switch for my studio apartment, I do not need a 24 port switch for my studio apartment I do not need a 24 port switch for my studio apartment I do not need a 24 port switch for my studio apartment

@disaster2life Hahaha, been there when young, and then owned a glorious 24 ports 100M switch that made unbearable noise in the bedroom

@gagath aaaa, I am jealous! The problem with the noise thing is I do somewhat share the apartment and the other person doesn't like my antics, I don't think a managed rack switch would mend relationships, _I hope I can get it_

@lunarequest I yearn so hard, I can completely work off of the AP / Switch combo box my ISP gave me even accounting for me wanting to wire up my desk, I really want one for the yearn, but same mood.

@sahil I do really want it, I **don't** need it, I don't even have that many things with an ethernet jack! ~~I could start reselling my internet access to my neighbours maybe?~~

@sahil ive always wanted to be an ISP lol

@lunarequest naaah this one is enterprise gear! i wanna own enterprose stuff

@lunarequest /me drools at the thought of making my own rack

@libreinator @sahil lmfaoo! I've day dreamed for a bit about the idea and only thought about getting leased lines for the apartment buildings I have lived in, thinking how I could make a collectively managed internet area in them

@sahil @libreinator its all big steps and id rather be a class C operator organsing local area internet for the community, but both paths sound fun, *and exactly like what I end up fantasising about* though ... I do have computer networks this semester, _maybe_

@disaster2life @libreinator stumbled upon this link today https://varunpriolkar.com/2016/12/how-to-start-an-internet-service-provider-in-india/

The person has covered the "to become ISP in India" quite well.

@sahil @libreinator thats super detailed! really cool! thanks!
