I ran out of network plugs, so wanted to order a new batch. I see now in my order history that I accidentally got two in quantity rather than 1.

@wouter @highvoltage don't use these! They are really responsible for so many network issues. Learn to crimp the female connectors instead. I can show you if you want.

@wouter @purpleidea Heh I've had that argument with purpleidea before too. My crimping is also fine and I've never had issues with my own cables (I've probably crimped over a 1000 points so far). I actually have some cabling to do at home but it involves some boring work that I'm not in the mood for (like drilling etc).

@highvoltage @wouter if you've ever tested a cable with a TDR, you'd be surprised! You don't necessarily have issues because TCP just retransmits, but your bandwidth and latency get worse. I've found tons of failures over the years, it's just not worth it when you can buy a factory crimp for $1. I've done a lot of work as a cable tech.
