@werdahias I don't think anyone seriously considers allowing an "autonomous AI agent" to maintain packages... (and FWIW this email address has now been blocked from interacting with the BTS)
@olasd I literally ranked the winning option E last, several places below NOTA, but I don't think a reasonable person could read it as saying "sic your openclaw bots on Debian". So on the one hand, this is just some unreasonable person being a jerk, and might have happened anyway. On the other hand, I think it is true in the big picture that Debian's choice has shifted the AI-overton window. I believe it has really helped amp up the (corrosive) "AI is inevitable" narrative that is one of the primary marketing themes of the LLM service providers. @werdahias

@werdahias I'd expect that turning over your DD or DM key over to an OpenClaw-style bot would be a good way to get package upload privileges pulled.

@awai @werdahias @olasd @bremner The way I see it, the tech won't vanish forever but AI companies will see the end of themselves. The LLM technology is useful for certain tasks but not everything.
LLMs are being treated as a swiss army knife when they clearly can't be good at everything but unfortunately the marketing is way too strong and that's the thing that's not letting the bubble burst already.
@SpaciousCoder78 @olasd @bremner @werdahias Most AI companies will likely go bankrupt, yes, but some of those will remain and keep pushing LLMs, and people will keep using them.
Maybe not as much as today, maybe for more complex and/or specialized tasks only, but I definitely don't share your optimism of a LLM-free future after the bubble bursts.
(TBH I don't have any idea what the world will look like at this point, except that we're probably never getting back to the pre-LLM era)
