PSA:

Yeah, will definitely pin those packages. I use them for my uni VPN.

Having a random number generator now assuming a maintainer role....

It's not yet uploaded, but given the GR decision I wouldn't hope for the best. #Debian

@olasd that at least is good to hear.

@olasd @bremner IMO what we would need is better mainter support and avoid burnout there rather than inducing more. But I am preaching to the choir here. I just hope this all goes away soon so we can have some resemblance of "normal" again.

@hillu I would not expect otherwise.

@werdahias The masculine urge to send a reply to that email saying "Go fuck yourself, clanker" is irresistible.

@awai @olasd @bremner it will if using an LLM becomes super expensive, which I think will happen once the bubble pops.

@awai @werdahias @olasd @bremner The way I see it, the tech won't vanish forever but AI companies will see the end of themselves. The LLM technology is useful for certain tasks but not everything.

LLMs are being treated as a swiss army knife when they clearly can't be good at everything but unfortunately the marketing is way too strong and that's the thing that's not letting the bubble burst already.

@SpaciousCoder78 @awai @bremner @olasd The main problem is the real load this is placing on FOSS devs and infrastructure, and I am very burnt out by it.
