A Computer Nerd who also happens to be a Debian Packager. I support free software and open standards. Outside of the computer world, I'm a STEM Major who likes inventing things. I also port third-party software to FreeBSD. Also a mapper for OpenStreetMap

@disaster2life @khubsuratinsaan what about the cgpa đź‘€

@khubsuratinsaan @disaster2life my exam was web programming and I didn’t even study for it. It was quite easy

@rperezrosario This is variable as I only tend to use Linux for packaging work and some gaming but I also use windows for some OneDrive stuff and gaming.

@disaster2life @khubsuratinsaan just wrote my final semester exam and left the exam hall. Best of luck to you

@beastoftraal @beastoftraal they tried to bully the government into cancelling the rules but they had a massive PR disaster and major financial loss trying to do that.

lyrics shitpost
@contrapunctus @lykrast even though I dropped midway out of German A1 classes, I was partly able to understand what you said. Welp time to rejoin the classes.

@disaster2life database theory is really a pain in the ass not gonna lie. the real life application we use everyday is only 10% of that entire course.

Currently in the process of adopting orphaned debian packages and keeping them updated. However due to Python 3.14, a lot of dependencies seem to be broken and have FTBFS so it's delaying the adoption process. Overtime I got better at packaging and it doesn't really feel that hard anymore. Maybe I should apply for DM soon.

@sjvn didn’t expect I’d see this one on fedi

@contrapunctus @Crafted_104 You gotta see the delusion of people who think LLMs will be some great invention that will redefine human lives. Also came across folks who don’t know shit about software fight with me in person that it’s going to replace all programmers. Often, I notice that people who back LLMs are people who don’t know shit about what they’re doing in the first place.

@contrapunctus Sure, ill probably show up for the next mapathon, just ping me.

@chiku @chiku @chiku can relate

going through old playlists is a weird feeling, I feel like I've grown past these songs

@AKernelPanic my current pc is too weak for cyberpunk so didn’t go past the first car chase mission. Metro was good but yet to play last light. Just “finished” Skyrim last month but still a few quest lines remain as well as dlc. FNV could be on my list one day if I actually finish it. I have to start my fourth play through after 3 previous unfinished ones. In my last one I only got to vegas strip before the mods broke my game

@contrapunctus how do I add a train route on OSM?

@AKernelPanic A long list of favourites but some of them are Both Red Dead Redemption games, Mass Effect Legendary Edition, Batman Arkham City, Witcher 3, Fallout 3, COD Black Ops 2, Guardians of the Galaxy, Uncharted 3, Halo 3, MGSV, AC Revelations, Watch Dogs 2 and many more... What are your other all time favs?

RAM price is going up because of "AI"? Or because of your standard capitalistic business cycle and new-technology cycle?

In 1985, the global DRAM market crashed after the computer bubble busted, it killed 8 out of 11 US DRAM makers, which was immediately politicized as part of the trade war to sanction Japan for dumping. In 1987 the market recovered and 1 Mb DRAM price soared from $10 to $40, which was then blamed on new Unix workstations, next-gen PCs, and the sanctions, before the price normalized in 1989.

In 2018 the DRAM shortage caused DDR4 DIMM price to soar to such an extent that a closed Internet cafe could sell all their PCs for a profit.

In 2022 Flash and DRAM price crashed to the lowest level, and right now there's another shortage and price hike after the shortage.

My conclusion: Nothing to see here, it's how capitalism works.

@AKernelPanic loved Bioshock infinite and dishonored. Dropped dishonored 2 at clockwork mansion, need to pick it up again soon. I have the other bioshock games but I don’t think they’re gonna feel the same as infinite.

@munin yep you’re quite late and some people already started looking into alternatives.
