I’ve been after a decent hex editor for a long time and I think ImHex could be it!

@joeyh are you coming to FOSDEM this year?

@highvoltage so it goes! thanks to you and anyone else who worked on getting it back up

I think my Fediverse host is back up?

@pwaring @cymplecy fair enough. I was curious whether it was their authorial voice or the book itself at fault. Their best known book is “roadside picnic” (the only I’ve read). It was pretty bleak too

@pwaring @cymplecy that’s on my to-read list (as all their books are). Have you read any of their others?

This Tate guy sounds like a Sacha Baron Cohen project

@pwaring it certainly is a console: i’m told you can plug a keyboard and mouse into it and run generic Linux software too, though.

@pwaring is a Steam Deck Linux on the desktop? It definitely plays AAA games. It’s definitely Linux. Is it not a desktop?

I’m finally decoupled from the Debian LWN subscription (as planned), to discover I’m not properly associated with the redhat one yet. No LWN for me just now!

Can anyone recommend parametric/procedural/programmable drawing apps for iOS? logo, OpenSCAD, fractals, anything of that sort?

None of the big 3 3d model sites (printables, thingiverse, thangs) implement RSS/Atom feeds for their front page. A missed opportunity imho

@ilmari ah thank you. I got hoodwinked again!

The .org sale is interesting. I’m not sure I’m going to register 10Y up front. But I might accelerate my plans to get off .org domains

I realised when doing this thst I could turn my daughter’s barbies into Samua Aran, or a storm trooper, or Robocop

Does anyone know of good communities to follow for 3d printing content on the Fediverse?

Did some 3D design (barbie crowns) and printing for the first time in months and it feels fantastic #3dprinting

@nixCraft what’s kept me from expiring it (1) is the long tail of “I once accepted mail here”
