@fabos @kaia super cursed either way

I should do a "catgirl KiCad crash course", that could be a fun little series of educational videos.

Especially as I very commonly get asked how to get started with PCB design and the like.

@lethalbit @walnut At one point during COVID I was bored and just taught myself the basic of KiCad. It helps a lot if you have an electronics background, but even without you can learn how do it. High-spped applications are more complicated; for starters I can recommend a simple analog design. Then just go from there :)

Tfw both the regional train and the long distance train you want to take are canceled..
Proves me right again by buying Super Sparpreis.

i feel like describing all non-systemd service files as "bash scripts" is kind of insulting

, for example, has so much functionality added to it that it's absolutely possible to just have a service file consisting entirely of variable declarations and openrc-specific commands

Sus Microsystems

I got my new @starlabssystems StarLite 5 this morning, replacing a Surface Go 2 which is starting to show its age...

Of course I've immediately installed @debian and , and after 'ing my /home from the SG2 it's good to go, with everything working out-of-the-box! (including the cameras, yes)

This definitely demonstrates how far ARM-based devices are from wider adoption, and how a Linux-first x86 can still be very relevant to end users!

False meme image that says "bad news ipv4 fans. linus torvalds has announced removing ipv4 support from the linux kernel after the maintainers of the network stack got into a fight over WHAT KIND OF HRT gives the best results. this incident will impact 5 billion people and will make 95% of all network equipment on Earth binnable." with fake screenshots of the linux kernel mailing list a girl calling another one a slur from 4chan over HRT choices and Linus Torvalds saying he will drop IPv4 support and asking the maintainers to learn to shut the fuck up.

@amberisvibin @disaster2life looks very good otherwise! Just a very minor thing I noticed. Getting good at soldering takes quite some time, even I have solder joints where I am not happy.

@amberisvibin @disaster2life c8 and c9 have little tin though, there should be some tin climb. Great work!

@mirabilos bluca though would say: send it upstream

What to do with unmerged-bin "taint" string : r/debian

systemd now generates a new "taint" string "unmerged-bin" for systems that have /usr/bin/ and /usr/sbin/ separate. It's generally recommended to make the ...

Fucking systemd again…

@mirabilos the best part is kibi sending a two-line change upstream, gating this, and poettering just closed it. Classic.

Fucking #LLM scrapers, now @codeberg seems severely impacted. Everyone championing so called AI can fuck right off. This is hurting the #FreeSoftware community all just to benefit some CEOs selling this snakeoil. Really pissed off right now.
