"Freiheit ist immer Freiheit des anders Denkenden." - Rosa Luxemburg

Image of two workers, one in a red safety helmet; the other in a blue one, standing in a factory, with a stylized sun in the background with red and blue rays. Shows a pie chart with a tiny brown wedge labeled "4 days," a larger yellow wedge labeled "20 hours (max)," and a large red wedge labeled "$69/hr minimum wage."

At the bottom it reads: Fight for the 4 20 69 work week

AI training is updated on Nigerians and Kenyans. Here's an essay from a Kenyan about AI stealing the style he was taught. The essay's full of "AI tells" - but it does not at all read like AI, because it's so clearly a human writing, with something to say.

French Communist Party Headquarters designed in 1966 and not fully completed until 1980. The designer, Oscar Niemeyer, worked on it while in exile to France due to the military dictatorship in his home nation, Brazil.

@theVedek o.O wtf

Ach sooo, grün-gelb ist eigentlich gar nicht der L2? Hier beim ankommenden Kabel schon.

Naja,… also, alles abgeschaltet, irgendwo kommt da noch Fremdspannung an. Da dachte ich, knipse ich mal die eine der roten Adern ab. Ich weiß zwar nicht wo es hingeht und wo es herkommt, aber irgendwer wird sich schon beschweren, wenn irgendwas nicht mehr geht.

Tuned into West Coast radio, and the third song is Dark Side Of The Moon.

Perfect.

Fuck me, still need to do all slides fro #Easterhegg

Die englische Sprache kennt ja “Verschlimmbessern” nicht, weshalb sie stattdessen “vibe coding” sagt.

Fucking hell, slop in tmux now too

@RichiH yeah. In PSUs the connection is encased in silicone as to reduce the mechanical stress and the overall wear. In general you can't go wrong with Japanese capacitor manufacturers

@RichiH filtering at mouser narrows it down to 153 results for me; I would go for screw terminals and a "trusted" brand such as TDK or Nichicon. If it's vibrating I'd apply some silicone anyway

@fabos wie billig soll das Fleisch sein? Ja.

@mirabilos having interacted with them, I would hope not. I also hate the slop, but please try not to discredit genuine contributors

Just got this from Microslop GitHub:

> We're updating how GitHub uses data to improve AI-powered coding tools. From April 24 onward, your interactions with GitHub Copilot—including inputs, outputs, code snippets, and associated context—may be used to train and enhance AI models unless you opt out.

I barely ever use GitHub. When I do, it's when I am forced to because some project I rely on only uses GitHub.

If your project is only using GitHub, please consider migrating.

@overflo looks like slop though

@niconiconi insert "too poor to pay for a double layer PCB? Just place 0 Ohm resistors all over the place. You certainly won't regret placing 0 Ohm resistors all over the place." meme

Finally got around to taking apart my USB-C dock. I want to replace the barrel jack by a standard one since the one HP has in there I've never seen. Next steps: measuring which pin is which + the dimensions of the footprint and finding a suitable replacement. The bottom of the jack can be seen top middle next to the SMD caps.

mmmhm, I should design open hardware
