Debian Maintainer | A Computer Nerd who also happens to be a Debian Packager.

I support free software and open standards. Outside of the computer world, I'm a STEM Major who likes inventing things.

I also port third-party software to FreeBSD. Also a mapper for OpenStreetMap.

I’m also a hobbyist graphic designers who mostly designs posters and media content for Debian India

@mos_8502 @mos_8502 @mos_8502 the other day my friend told me about an electronic software. I noticed it’s not in debian and wanted to file a RFP for it but then it turns out that they never published a release for it. They said they instead want users to use their docker image while they push commits everyday to the repo. Let’s say that the software will never be packaged into any distro. Some people should have a formal class in software engineering

@chirag @sahil lmaooo I thought it was a joke when you kept mentioning jan 3rd in Mumbai

depressive af
@contrapunctus not sure about others but I definitely found you to be a cool and chill person when I met you a month ago but I can totally relate to your experience. I had the same problem and honestly I kind of stopped bothering about getting attention and ironically it made me more noticeable among people. I got a lot of flirts and compliments in the last few months and I’ve never been complimented anything like that in my life. Human psychology is weird honestly.

@fbinin I knew this was coming. It’s not really free software if the company backing it has malicious intents.

@chirag @sahil damn Chirag how did your conference on Jan 3rd go?

@niyabits nice but I still prefer Monal on MacOS. Eagerly waiting for the UI rewrite

@werdahias yeah I thought I’d wrap up the updates of some python packages but it looks like some packages that I’m updating are broken to the core. Had to get DPT involved to fix it. >_<

@werdahias I think the only debian work I got done in the last few days was MiniDebConf Kanpur work - logo, poster, wiki etc. Way too fatigued these days to get much work done.

@rose_alibi yeah it’s incredibly hard to find anything old or vintage here as people didn’t have any sort of disposable income back then. Any rare stuff usually electronics ends up in CeX but like I said no iPods or 3DS either

@rose_alibi one thing I dislike not being born in the West is the lack of vintage or old hardware. It's incredibly rare to find old tech here in India. I've been searching for an iPod Classic for a while but can't find anything. Heck, cant even find a 3DS or DS

@yesjohn the pain

@contrapunctus @contrapunctus I wouldn’t be surprised if these people are voted back into power again in the next elections. Hate sells very well.

Wrote a blog post today about how some folks on Instagram made people all over the city/country buy grapes to the point that there are no grapes in the market. Goes to show how dangerous proprietary social media is.

@untrusem I’m sure you’ll meet more crazy and amazing people at MDC Kanpur ;)

First day of the year and I already woke up at 5:30am with poor sleep quality :(

@libreinator @ravi The website is work in progress. We don't have full access to the editing part yet. Hopefully we will next year :P

We're happy to announce MiniDebConf Kanpur 2026 scheduled for 14th-15th March, 2026.

Details to follow on https://wiki.debian.org/DebianIndia/MiniDebConfIndia/MiniDebConfKanpur2026

#MiniDebConf #Kanpur #Debian #India #FreeSoftware #OpenSource #Linux
A poster saying - MiniDebConf is Coming to (Kanpur Central India Railway board) March 14-15, 2026 IIT Kanpur. It has a bird with Debian swirl logo and MiniDebConf Kanpur 2026 written on the top left. A building can be seen in the background of the poster.

My New Year Eve’s plan: Just sleep properly lol

@Sanat just block them. That’s the only way to stop it

@libreinator @praveen not very close to Delhi but it’s near Lucknow. All of us will be there so as long as you’re within the IITK campus premises and don’t wander off alone you should be fine. As for pollution it’s in march so I guess things will settle down a bit. The event was delayed intentionally to march keeping the weather in mind iirc
